Unni Mukundan (Malayalam: ഉണ്ണി മുകുന്ദന്‍) is an Indian film actor, who works mainly in the Malayalam and Tamil film industry. He is also known as Krishna in the Tamil cinema.

Acting career

He originally sought to become a filmmaker, but filmmakers began offering him acting roles. He did an audition in Chennai for the Tamil film Seedan, an adaptation of the Malayalam film Nandanam,[1] and was chosen for the hero's role, which was played by Prithviraj Sukumaran in the Malayalam version. The film was directed by Subramaniam Shiva and released on 25 February 2011.

Mukundan entered the Malayalam film industry through Bombay March 12, directed by Babu Janardhan. He played a notable role alongside Mammootty. The film was released on 30 June 2011. His third film was Malayalam movie Bangkok Summer, directed by Pramod Pappan. The film was released on 22 July 2011. His current project is Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty, directed by T. K. Rajeev Kumar. He is playing the lead role,[2] unlike in his previous appearances, where he was in the ensemble.[1] Filming is in progress in Thiruvananthapuram.[3] Another project is Ezham Suryan wherein Mukundan plays the hero. The movie is directed by Shri. Njanasheelan. Filming is in progress in Thrissur. He is also cast as the hero of the new remake of Chattakari which is yet to finalise its heroine. he replaced prithviraj in the film mallu singh directed by vishakh. [4][5]
